Passive rand is configured and stretched for situations where the primary focus is comfort and not dynamic support. New climbers improving their footwork, professional guides leading whole-day excursions, and long, multi-pitch climbs are examples of how comfort is equally important and beneficial as performance.

Pressure Absorber Fit (PAF) System

PAF (Pressure Absorbing Fit) is an innovative heel system that helps both spread the force of heel tension and improve the fit of the heel. Active Rand rubber is interrupted at the back of the heel to reduce pressure on the Achilles tendon and is laced with 2mm big toe. Holes on the side of the heel indicate the applied tension, ranging from 1 hole for light tension, 2 holes for medium tension, and 3 holes for strong tension.

PAF System

PAF is an innovative heel system that helps both spread the force of heel tension and improve the fit of the heel. Aggressive stretch rubber is cut at the back of the heel to reduce pressure on the Achilles tendon and is bonded with softer rubber that works like a bridge and conforms precisely to the shape of the heel. The holes on the side indicate the applied voltage, ranging from 1 hole for light voltage, 2 holes for medium tension, and 3 holes for strong tension.
