Scarpa Mojito Bio Men's Outdoor Shoes

Scarpa Mojito Bio is the first Scarpa product that is 100% biodegradable. In fact, the materials that make it up have been modified so that they can be more easily decomposed by bacteria and other natural microorganisms. Intertek's Green Leaf certification declares that the percentage biodegradation of sole, tread and upper materials is currently between 6% and 8% after 45 days under the controlled conditions of the ASTM D5511 standard.

Scarpa Mojito Bio Features

Upper : Made of PET yarn woven with knitting technology. This shoe is produced with the most advanced technologies in the processing of biodegradable materials. This ensures that no trace of plastic is left in the environment at the end of the decomposition process. Packaging is made with FSC certified papers.

Foot Sole : Presa® Sole URB-01 is made of two components. Medium density biodegradable EVA midsole for maximum stability. The outsole is made of a biodegradable compound containing natural rubber. It is characterized by an excellent grip and a duration similar to synthetic rubber.

100% Biodegradable : The majority of shoes are expected to become household waste in landfills and create serious environmental impacts. SCARPA's GREEN LAB focused on reducing this impact by accelerating the decomposition process.

Simplified Sole : Remove rubber toe cap and heel to eliminate waste. The elimination of metal rings further simplifies the separation process.

Presa Sole : Both the midsole and tread are made of biodegradable materials certified to ASTM D5511 Standard.
