The mesh and PU-reinforced upper provides structure and support, while the technical final shape and our Sock-fit LW technology mean a precise fit for moving quickly on technical terrain. The midsole features our Foot Active Control system combined with a carbon fiber plate and Presa SuperGum outsole for superior traction and safety when navigating above tree line.

Scarpa Golden Gate Kima RT Features

EXO : The highly breathable upper mesh is supported by our EXO internal support matrix inspired by the structural elements of the Golden Gate Bridge. Welded PY reinforcements at the top provide additional structure, support and wear resistance.

Midsole : It has two different densities of SCARPA's exclusive "Active EVA" compound. The softer density underlayer cushions foot strike and adapts to rocky terrain. The top layer of medium-density Active EVA provides support and structure to minimize foot fatigue. A 1mm, multilayer carbon fiber plate sandwiched between two layers provides underfoot protection and significant energy return and propulsion during the toe-off phase of the gait cycle.

Ortholite is an open-cell PU foam with great resistance to compression set (less than 5% compression set). The open-cell PU construction provides exceptional breathability and the formulation also contains 5% recycled rubber content, providing enhanced rebound while also reducing impact on the planet.

Each Presa® sole is carefully developed with the shoe's context of use in mind. Measurement of key performance indicators (including grip and resistance on dry and wet surfaces) is crucial in choosing the best sole for the activity for which the shoe is designed.

SuperGum

SCARPA's exclusive SuperGum rubber compound was developed to provide equal or better slip resistance compared to other high-friction rubbers, but with far superior abrasion resistance. It is formulated to provide high friction performance in both wet and dry conditions, but also offers 3 times greater resistance to wear.
