Vibram Sole Technology
Vibram Sole Technology
Vibram sole is a technology that should be taken into consideration when choosing outdoor shoes for activities such as climbing and mountaineering .
When choosing suitable walking shoes for nature walks, it is very important to choose shoes suitable for the type of walk and the season.
In addition to important criteria such as comfort, lightness, flexibility and waterproofness, the shoe should also make your activity safer and more comfortable by covering the ground on which it is used.
As a Vibram sole structure, it meets all needs for outdoor sports activities such as trekking and mountaineering , especially with its grip on the ground.
What is Vibram Sole?
Vibram sole is a sole technology produced to increase flexibility, softness, durability and grip.
It has a unique durable structure that combines foam and rubber.
This sole structure, which stands out with its quality, durability, comfort and grip features, is widely used in the shoe industry due to its success.
Vibram Sole History
The history of Vibram soles dates back to 1935.
In those years, 6 Italian climbers could not resist the harsh conditions and lost their lives.
It was thought that the death of the climbers was caused by their shoes not being suitable for climbing and conditions.
At that time, soles produced from leather and various industrial products were quite risky in the mountain environment.
After this incident, an Italian inventor named Vitale Bramani, a close friend of the deceased climbers, searched for hard and durable alternative materials for mountaineering shoes and boots.
At the end of this search, Bramani founded his own company in 1937 and started producing rubber shoe soles by obtaining his first patent.
Bramani named his company "Vibram", inspired by its name.
The rubber soles it produced were first used in mountaineering boots.
Bramani founded the company "Vibram" with the financial support he received from Leopoldo Pirelli, who was the president of Pirelli tires.
Vibram soles were used in the boots of the Italian team that made the first successful K2 summit climb in 1954.
After this success, Vibram company made its name known all over the world.
Vibram soles are currently produced in Brazil, China, Italy and the United States.
More than 1000 shoe manufacturers use Vibram soles in their products.
What are the Advantages of Vibram Sole Technology?
Vibram soles are resistant to hard surfaces such as rocks and adapt to difficult terrain conditions with their solid grip.
The teeth on the Vibram sole do not lose their function in muddy terrain and support your safety.
Vibram technology also prevents rain and snow water from entering the shoe.
In addition to bases for mountaineering and nature sports; Vibram also produces soles for military, industrial, sports and fashion use.
Vibram produces soles of 4 different hardnesses for mountaineering.
4/1 sole for daily and trekking use
4/2 sole for trekking and light mountain walks
4/3 sole that allows medium difficulty mountaineering activities
4/4 sole suitable for use in all kinds of mountain conditions
The main features of Vibram soles are their lightness, flexibility, durability and high coefficient of friction.
Patterns are specially designed. In this way, road holding is increased and snow and mud filling between the patterns is prevented.
What is Vibram Arctic Grip Technology?
Vibram Arctic Grip is a cutting-edge outdoor shoe that aims to change winter shoe design.
It is the sole structure with the most advanced technology created by Vibram.
Vibram Arctic Grip is an all-rubber material with no metal components or inserts.
And it has provided a new approach to grip on icy surfaces, especially wet ice.
To prevent the shoes from slipping on ice, they are provided with rubber material instead of metal support.
In this way, a more durable structure was obtained from these metal parts.
The sole design has special protrusions to help grip on ice.
It provides excellent grip and traction on wet ice while not absorbing liquids and dirt.
